“It is Saturday and I always take a Self Care day to revitalize and renew.

It has been a challenging time for me recently, and sometimes even practicing self care can be challenging when we are feeling unwell emotionally and physically…

It is always okay to do absolutely nothing but rest…sleep…watch TV…cry…experience your feelings…You do not have to move forward every day. Sometimes giving yourself permission to “stand still “ is the most empathetic self care you can offer yourself.

Tomorrow is another day to try again. When I feel sad and a bit disconnected…I say this little prayer to myself…

“Today, I know that what I need is peace…silence…reflection…solitude…I offer that to myself for today as my self care practice.”

Then, I make myself my favorite coffee…I pray for strength and comfort…and tune into my body, mind and spirit, and offer myself what I know will be healing for me today…whatever that looks like and feels like in each and every moment of this day.
