DETOX BATH RECIPE – WENDY BLANCHARD, M.S., CHHC

I use this recipe a couple of times a week. What a special treat for myself! It is an important part of my self care.

Use 1 cup of epsom salts or dead sea salt,  1/2 cup of baking soda, and 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar. Put them into a tub of hot water and add in your preference of essential oils. Soak for 10- 20 minutes, and be sure to stay hydrated throughout your soak with water. You need to stay hydrated during your bath, as well as post detox bath for 24 hours. As a rule, drink plenty of water throughout the day, every day.

After your bath, rinse off in a cool shower, dry off and get comfortable, and let your body detox further.  Detoxing symptoms may continue for 24 hours, so be sure to continuously drink water to stay hydrated. Be kind to yourself, relax, take this time for you, and just enjoy the process of renewal through this safe detox. I love adding essential oils to my baths, but make sure you are using pure grade oils such as Young Living that are safe for the skin. My favs are Lavender, Ylang Ylang, Stress Away, Frankincense, and Eucalyptus. Light some candles too! I use battery operated candles for safety.

This detox can also be done as a foot soak.

To your good health!
