EXCERPT FROM MY UPCOMING BOOK, WRITE, PRAY, RECOVER – WENDY BLANCHARD, M.S., CHHC

Sometimes even practicing self care can be challenging when we are feeling unwell emotionally and physically…

It is always okay to do absolutely nothing but rest, sleep, watch TV, cry, experience your feelings. You do not have to move forward every day. Sometimes giving yourself permission to “stand still” is the most empathetic self care you can offer yourself.

Tomorrow is another day to try again. When I feel sad and a bit disconnected, I say this little prayer to myself…

“Today, I know that what I need is peace, silence, reflection, solitude. I offer that to myself for today as my self care practice.”

Then, I make myself my favorite coffee. I pray for strength and comfort, and tune into my body, mind and spirit, and offer myself what I know will be healing for me today, whatever that looks like and feels like in each and every moment of this day.

ASK your own intuition for Guidance. ALLOW yourself to Connect. ACHIEVE Wellness in your own time. ASK, ALLOW, ACHIEVE…

Self care are the tools, the actions, that we take to achieve wellness, and wellness is our POWER in recovery, from anything. WELLNESS IS WHERE WE STAND IN OUR POWER.

will you be willing to try as a new practice today?
