GL-AIRY FREE OATS AND FRUIT – WENDY BLANCHARD, M.S.

What a great day for a hot breakfast! Here in the greater New York area it is a snow day, and all the kids are at home. This is a very quick and easy, and very healthy breakfast that is also filling. Oats are filled with nutrients as well significant sources of dietary fiber. I’ve added organic fruits such as blueberries, apples, and dates. Blueberries are a super food (“a nutrient-rich food considered to be especially beneficial for health and well-being”)which are packed with antioxidants, and in fact, is the number one antioxidant in the world. It also offers many other significant benefits such as boosting the immune system, preventing and fighting cancer, and improves digestion. Some of the health benefits of apples include improved digestion, and prevention of stomach disorders, and the benefits of dates include relief from constipation, intestinal disorders, heart problems, and anemia, and can also aid in gaining weight. Dates are chock full of several vitamins, minerals and fiber. Dates contain oil, calcium, sulfur, iron, potassium, phosphorous, manganese, copper and magnesium which are all beneficial for health. A hot, yummy and nutritious breakfast for the family!
