REMEMBER TO USE GLUTEN FREE, AND ORGANIC INGREDIENTS.  USE DAIRY FREE ALMOND MILK.

Ingredients:  (To make two quarts):

2 quarts water
15 whole cloves
20 black peppercorns
3 sticks cinnamon
20 whole cardamon pods (split the pods first by placing a paper towel over them, and lightly tapping on them with a plastic spatula)
8 fresh ginger slices (1/4″ thick, no need to peel)
1/2 teaspoon black or green tea leaves
Almond milk, and local honey, to taste

Instructions:

Bring 2 quarts of water to a boil in a 3-4 quart pot.  Add cloves, and boil for one minute.  Next, add cardamon, peppercorns, cinnamon, and fresh ginger root.  Cover and boil for at least 30 minutes.  For best flavor, cover and simmer 2-3 hours!  When ready, remove from heat, add tea and let cool.  Strain tea.  When ready to drink, add dairy-free milk, and sweeten to taste with honey!

This is a Chai Tea recipe that I have been using! I drink Chai Tea every day because it is so yummy, and so healthy! I thought of a way that we could get our children and grandchildren to excited about being healthy….ice pops!!!! This is the perfect summer weekend to start!

After you make the tea, while it is still hot, simply add in some Agave Nectar, honey or Sweet Leaf drops/Stevia, and stir. Immediately pour into ice pop molds. That’s it! Healthy and Eas-E! You can enjoy an ice cold glass of Chai Tea with almond milk! I added Sweet Leaf drops because it dissolves into the tea when it is cold.

Happy Independence Day!

To your good health!

Wendy
